Our Mission
The purpose of the South Almaden Valley Rural Alliance shall be to actively monitor and influence land use and related issues in and around the South Almaden Valley Urban Reserve to maintain the rural nature of the area and assure that the existing General Plan constraints are maintained.

McKean Road Sports Complex

The issue currently in the forefront of SAVRA's attention is the premature development of the South Almaden Valley Urban Reserve in the form of the proposed McKean Road Sports Complex.
The project's current DEIR cites significant and unavoidable impacts on the Urban Reserve and its residents in some of the following areas:
- Water supply and water quality
- Public safety
- Traffic
- Loss of prime agricultural land
